Jennifer Lopez has long been our go-to when it comes to hair inspiration. Whether it's her own naturally curly hair which, in the midst of lockdown, gave us the push we needed to embrace our own natural texture, or – in stark contrast – an incredibly glamorous blow-dry that will remain indelible on our mental mood boards for event looks regardless of the trends.
The performer has also tempted us to try a fringe over the years, most recently with her latest 'do debuted on Instagram. The hairstyle, by Hollywood favourite Lorenzo Martin, combined tousled layers with a perfect full-yet-choppy fringe, which together had a softly shaggy '70s retro feel.
While details on what Martin used to created the look are sparse, no doubt he opted for some volumising hair products given its full-bodied finish. It's also likely he styled the lengths with a curling tong or wand for some loosely waved texture.
Adding to the freshness of the laidback look are Lopez's highlights. Peaking through her naturally brunette hair, the lighter pieces give her hair a sun-kissed aesthetic which feels signature to the star, whether styling her hair up or down, natural or 'done'.
But for those in the market for a new fringe, Lopez's is not the only one inspiring us. Not only dictated by your looks but your lifestyle, a fringe – whether blunt and brow-grazing or light and layered – should be tailored to you and only you.
Below, see more A-listers wearing fringes impossibly well to take to your hairdresser for starting ideas. As they demonstrate there's no one-size-fits-all, but there is a fringe for everyone.

Pattie Boyd kept her light fringe eye-skimming, which added a little edge to her more polished take on the trend.
